At no time will a charge be made without your authorisation. Additionally, you have the option to sign up for our Automatic Recharge (top up) feature. The PennyTalk calling card does have a 79p monthly service charge which is deducted from your balance each month. Are there any additional charges? With PennyTalk, there are no hidden charges. There is a 35p connection fee which is charged at the time each call is made and answer supervision is received. There is also a 79p monthly service fee that applies to all accounts and is charged on each monthly anniversary of activation. A 15p per minute payphone operator recovery fee will be charged on calls made from payphones. All PennyTalk rates and fees are inclusive of VAT. Depending on your mobile phone service plan, calls made from a mobile phone may use your airtime minutes. Your mobile service provider may also apply an additional surcharge. No. There are no contracts with PennyTalk, and we offer a satisfaction guarantee. If at any time you become dissatisfied with the service, please contact Customer Service to cancel your account. Your unused paid balance will be refunded to your credit or debit card. What is the PennyTalk satisfaction guarantee? If you are not satisfied with the service you receive from PennyTalk, we will refund any unused balance remaining in your account. How often do PennyTalk calling rates change? PennyTalk calling rates rarely change and when they do, more often rates are lowered. Per minute rates advertised in print and on television are guaranteed for at least three months from the date the ad appears. If our costs to complete calls to a specific destination increase, we may have to raise calling rates to that destination. Are the rates higher if I call TO a mobile phone? Depending on where you call, a call TO a mobile phone outside of the United Kingdom may carry a higher rate per minute. This is due to the higher costs we must pay the international mobile carrier to connect the call. Please consult the rates for the country you are calling. If there is no cellular or mobile rate listed, the applicable country or city rate is the rate you will pay. For example, all calls to Canada are just 1p a minute, no matter where in Canada you call and no matter whether you call a landline or mobile phone. I do not see the city I am calling listed on the Rates page. What rate will I be charged? If the city or location you are calling within a country is not listed separately on the Rates page, you will be charged the country rate for your call. Note that rates may be lower to certain cities within a country and that rates to mobile phones may be higher than the country rate. For example, all calls to Canada are just 1p a minute, no matter where in Canada you call and no matter whether you call a landline or mobile phone. The location I am calling has a "Mobile" rate listed on the Rates page. What does that mean? If a Mobile (or Cellular) rate is listed, it represents the rate you will be charged to call a mobile phone in that country or city. For example, the rate to call a landline in Mexico is 1.9p a minute; the rate to call a mobile phone in Mexico is 15.9p a minute. So you will be charged 15.9p a minute to call a mobile phone in Mexico, regardless of whether you make the call from your landline or mobile phone. The country I am calling has more than one rate listed on the Rates page. What does that mean? In some cases, rates differ for calls to cities or mobile phones within a country. For example, let's look at Russia. There are four rates listed: Russia 1.5p, Russia-Mobile 3.9p, Russia-Moscow 1p, and Russia-St. Petersburg 1p. This means that calls to any landline in Moscow or St. Petersburg are just 1p a minute. Calls to landlines anywhere else in Russia are 1.5p a minute. Calls to any mobile phone in Russia are 3.9p a minute. Rates can vary within a country based on what the local telephone service or cellular service provider charges IDT to complete your call.
